Between the time the dish leaves the restaurant kitchen and the moment it arrives on the table in the customer's home, it will already have lost some of its flavour, and the texture of the food will be less appetising.

With this in mind, Sacha and Benoît Thorey founded Allcook in 2021. Their idea? To combine the practicality of a delivery service for everyday meals with the incomparable taste and enjoyment of a dish just prepared by a chef.

The couple are passionate about cooking - Sacha has extensive experience in food tech, and Benoît has 20 years of experience as a chef in top-of-the-range catering, notably with La Réserve in Geneva, Michel Reybier Hospitality Traiteur and Potel et Chabot in Paris.

Cutting-edge techniques deliver real freshness

A dish prepared and then delivered to your home, even if it has been cooked by a great chef, will always have a different flavour and precision in terms of taste than if it had just been freshly cooked.

A fish that leaves the kitchen where it was prepared will continue to cook during delivery if it remains hot. It will be overcooked by the time it reaches the customer's plate. Vegetables will lose their crunchiness. Reheated simmered dishes will also lose some of their flavour.

The chef's secret? Using catering techniques to preserve taste. Allcook takes the meal preparation methods used at high-end events and adapts them to everyday dishes. Each dish element is pre-cooked separately until it is "almost ready", before undergoing rapid cooling and then being vacuum-packed.

All the customer has to do is reheat each component in its packaging for the recommended time to perfect the cooking process. In this way, the nutritional quality, flavours and textures remain intact.

Delicious and seasonal

But the secret of a dish that's rich in flavour also lies in the choice of ingredients. Allcook uses fresh, seasonal produce. Meat comes from producers in Switzerland or neighbouring France. What's more, vacuum-packing avoids pasteurisation and additives and means that the food can be kept for seven days in the refrigerator, while keeping the same delicious taste it would have had on day one.

Flexible subscriptions or one-off orders

The way it works is simple: customers can subscribe to the service and determine the weekly quantity of meals they would like to receive. Then, they simply select the dishes of their choice. Each week, the dishes are prepared by Allcook's chefs, vacuum-packed to preserve all their flavour, and delivered to customers throughout Switzerland in insulated boxes.

The subscription is flexible and without obligation, but customers can also opt for a one-off order. Customers can take a journey through the menu, enjoying creamy Zurich-style minced meat, spicy poultry fajitas or delicious miso noodle soup. Customers can select a specific meal plan: vegetarian, omnivore or a low-carb plan known to support weight loss. They can also customise their order based on their allergies and nutrition preferences.
