The Boatlife Festival brings together nine days of music, comedy, poetry and dancing to a boat that travels along the River Rhine, through the heart of Basel, all while you party.
Boatlife Festival 2024
The Boatlife Festival has to be one of the most unique events in Switzerland, with it all taking place aboard a river cruise boat in Basel, the MS Flâneur Merian. Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city on the Rhine while enjoying anything from disco nights and comedy gigs to poetry evenings.
Each day of the Boatlife Festival brings its own unique vibe and theming, so you can choose the day that suits you best. This year, the events are:
Bravo Hits Yacht
- Date: Friday, November 1
- Time: 9.30pm-4am
The Bravo Hits Yacht is back and is bringing the biggest hits of the 1990s and 2000s back to the water. This night promises a lively party that invites you to sing along, dance and celebrate. Get ready for an unforgettable journey into the past, full of memories and good humour!
DAY RAVE by Les Acteurs

- Time: 3.30pm-10pm
The Day Rave brings the best electronic sounds to the Rhine. Let yourself be carried away by the powerful beats and driving rhythms as the sun sets over Basel. A day full of energy, good music and an unforgettable atmosphere on the water awaits you.
2000er Party

Immerse yourself in the world of the 2000s! This party brings you the biggest hits from an unforgettable decade. Whether hip-hop, pop or dance, everyone gets their money's worth here. Get ready for a night full of nostalgia and party fun lasting until the early hours of the morning.
Fusión Caribe Salsa Cruise

Hot rhythms and Latin American joie de vivre await you on the Fusión Caribe Salsa Cruise. Dance to salsa, bachata and more while the Flâneur glides along the Rhine. This night promises the passion and pure joy of dancing.
Poetry Slam
- Date: Tuesday, November 5
- Time: 6.45pm-11pm
Six talented word artists compete against each other on the planks of the MS Flâneur and inspire the audience with texts they have written themselves. Who will manage to win the hearts of the jury? A night full of creativity and emotions awaits you. Bear in mind that this night is not held in English, so some German language skills will be needed!
Comedy Night

- Time: 6.45pm-11pm
Laughter is guaranteed when these three comedians take over the Flâneur. Benaissa Lamroubal brings his unmistakable humour to the stage, while Khalid Bounouar delights with charm and wit. Medaur Sadrija rounds off the evening with his unique style. A comedy event that you shouldn't miss! Again, the German language will be needed to enjoy this event.
Studentenfutter (Student Food) Boat Party

The legendary Studentenfutter party series is heading to the water! Get ready for an unforgettable night full of electrifying beats as the students of Basel make the boat rock! Dance, celebrate and enjoy the special atmosphere on board.
Latin Night

This night is all about Latin beats! Reggaeton, salsa and bachata provide hot rhythms and a fiery dance atmosphere on the ship. A night full of passion, good music and unforgettable moments awaits you.
River Rave

The grand finale of the Boatlife Festival 2024 brings you the Electronic Night Cruise - a rave on the Rhine that is all about electronic music. From house to tech house to melodic techno, the night will be dominated by a first-class line-up. Let yourself be carried away by the beats and the unique atmosphere and celebrate with us until the early hours. An unforgettable finale that you cannot miss!

Each event is ticketed individually, so if you fancy a daytime rave but not a late-night electro party, that's no problem at all! All tickets can be bought from the Boatlife Festival website, which also shows you the boarding point for the boat. Tickets are priced between 15 and 29 Swiss francs.
