Thinking of booking a last-minute break this Easter, but aren’t sure which destination to pick? Whether you want to follow the trends or avoid the crowds, comparison site Skyscanner has revealed the most popular destinations for people in Switzerland to visit during the holidays.
Families in Switzerland flexible when booking Easter getaways
To see which destinations are top of bucket lists this Easter, Skyscanner revealed the top searches on its site by users from Switzerland. These are for dates between April 5 and May 20, 2025, the time when most school holidays occur.
Interestingly, it’s clear that families and individuals in Switzerland are happy to let prices and spontaneity guide their holidays at Easter, as the most popular option on the Skyscanner website is to make a general search of all places at once.
London and Porto top of Swiss bucket lists
Nevertheless, the British capital London is the most popular Easter destination for people in Switzerland for 2025. Despite the new 10-pound ETA visa system for non-British and Irish nationals, the sights and sounds of the “Big Smoke” remain a big draw.
London was followed by the Portuguese city of Porto. With temperatures between 10 and 20 degrees celsius, April and May are the perfect time to explore the city and enjoy a glass of port and a Francesinha on the banks of the Douro.
Of the 10 most popular places to visit this year, only one destination was outside of Europe, namely Dubai. In terms of countries, Spain is the most popular tourist destination this Easter, followed by Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Türkiye.
