One of the most popular Christmas markets in Switzerland
Taking place from December 7-8, 2024, the Schaffhausen Christmas Market is situated right next to the All Saints Abbey, which houses the largest cloister in Switzerland. The Christmas market is festooned with soft festive lights and stalls.
At the market, visitors can find classic winter treats as well as a plethora of international specialities. Additionally, there are over 80 stalls offering decorations and handcrafted goods, which are perfect for a bit of Christmas and gift shopping.
For families with children, there are also attractions on both days of the market such as candle dipping and riding the carousel near the cathedral. There's even a Christmas market photo competition for the best photo of the Schaffhausen Christmas Market, and the winner will win a small gift from the organising committee. Furthermore, the market offers hot mulled wine (Glühwein) or punch for visitors to enjoy while they are perusing the stalls.
