The Argentine World Cup star Lionel Messi has been pictured on holiday in the Swiss mountains with his family. The PSG forward is certainly travelling in style, having rented a luxury chalet complex in Crans-Montana for 300.000 francs a week.

Argentine football star Messi on holiday in Switzerland

According to 20 Minuten, the Messi family are currently enjoying a holiday in a ski resort in Switzerland. Pictures shared to the footballer's Instagram account show Messi, his partner Antonella Roccuzzo and his three children swimming, skiing and relaxing in the alpine resort of Crans-Montana.

As he is arguably the best footballer that has ever lived, and purportedly earns over 780.000 US dollars a week playing for PSG, the Messis have truly splashed the cash on their alpine adventure. The family are reportedly renting two chalets provided by the Ultima Collection which have over 4.500 square metres of living space.

Built in the style of traditional Swiss chalets, the complex boasts a private lake, cinema room, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. In addition, 12 workers are on-site at all times to provide for every need, from cooks and butlers to cleaners and drivers. The price of all this luxury? 300.000 francs a week.

Unclear when Lionel Messi will return to play for PSG

Despite the Instagram photos near-confirming his location, Ultima Collection were understandably hesitant to reveal whether the star was actually staying in their chalet. "Unfortunately, I can't confirm or comment on any stays with our guests," a spokesperson told 20 Minuten.

Regardless of where they are staying, a spokesperson from the Crans-Montana resort, Gregoire Matthey, said the community are happy to have such famous guests. "We are proud to have a world star like Lionel Messi with us," he said, noting that the resort has also welcomed football star and manager Zinédine Zidane in recent months.

It is currently unclear how long the Messi family will remain in Switzerland, as he has already missed one PSG match while staying in the alpine nation. However, given his importance to Argentina's World Cup win, and with an 18-year-long star-studded career already under his belt, we can probably all agree that la pulga deserves some rest.
