Swiss Air Rail offer to be expanded to include Air France flights
The airline Air France has announced that it will be joining the Swiss Air Rail scheme, which allows passengers to book a flight and a train ticket in Switzerland together in the same booking.
Air Rail scheme now available on flights to and from Paris
The Air Rail special ticketing system is being expanded once again. As a joint venture between Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Air France, the offer allows passengers to combine their flights and rail journeys into one ticket, with a simple booking process.
With the inclusion of Air France in the offer, customers will be able to use the Smart Connect platform to book an Air France-operated flight together with a train ticket to or from six different Swiss cities.
The booking process is simple. You simply need to enter your point of departure, destination and travel dates on the Air France website, and you will be redirected to the Air France Smart Connect platform, where you can select your preferred flight and train.
Air France passengers can travel to six Swiss cities with single booking
Currently, the offer is available on the following routes:
- Flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Geneva-Cointrin, with connection by train to Bern, Lausanne, Fribourg and Biel / Bienne.
- Flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Zurich-Kloten, with connection by train to Bern, Thun and St. Gallen.
Air France plans to gradually extend the offer by adding further stations in Switzerland and offering the same service to customers connecting from another flight in Paris.
