Wine at the Lake
Spend a enjoyable evening at the beautiful village of Paradiso, near Lugano, in Switzerland, as over 40 different wines are available for you to sample and try as the sun sets over the lake.
Wine at the Lake (Vino al Lago)
Paradiso in the Swiss canton of Ticino is hosting a two-day wine-tasting event dedicated to the small and medium producers from the local area and northern Italy.
Food trucks will be present to make sure you don't go hungry, and over 40 different wines will be available to taste.
You can come along and browse for free, but to taste you need to buy a souvenir glass for 20 Swiss francs, which you get to keep at the end of the night. With that glass, you can try as many of the wines as you like!
Ticino and wine
Ticino gets the most sunshine of all the regions of Switzerland, and the region has been making wine since the Roman era. There are over 260 wineries in the region today, mostly producing red wines, especially Merlot. The finest wines from the canton are given the appellation Ticino DOC or Ticinese DOC, to mark them out as being of the best quality. If you are a fan of Swiss wines, you can do bicycle tours of the region, visiting the various wineries.
